This trail, which runs along the Deschutes River in Bend, is within walking distance of Mark and Susan's house in Bend. Floyd caught this moment today at noon at a feeder on our patio. The weather has warmed up the last few days with lots of sunshine. The daffodils are blooming. It's a glorious season! Of course, there's still some winter weather yet to come, but spring is well on the way.

Christmas and the 60th birthday celebration is behind us now. Peter left this morning. We had a grand weekend, spending two nights at a beach house at Lincoln City during a winter storm! Then dinner with friends, then dessert with Floyd's family. But now it's back to normal again. With days of gray skies ahead here in Oregon, winter sometimes drags on. But I just noticed that my daffodils are already 2 inches out of the wet ground! You know what? Spring is coming! Those daffodils will bloom by mid to end of February!!!! That will go a long way toward brightening the dark days.
